Farewell 2013

Last night I asked hubby what his favorite moments of 2013 were. As I asked him, I got to thinking, what were mine? I feel like I accomplished so much in a single year, but what were my truly favorite moments. I have had a lot of time to think, but I believe this is my top five moments of 2013.

5. Getting my braces off
Yes, this is every 15 year olds dream! I got my braces on in February 2012 with dreams of getting them off before my first marathon in May 2013. With four days to spare, I got my wish. I had to get braces because I lost my final baby tooth the day before we left to Disney. It was a long 15 months, but I am so excited with the outcome!

4. Mini vacations
My work year starts in February, so with our Disney trip coming up next week, I wasn't able to go on a fun vacation this year. Instead, we took some really fun getaway trips to Ohio. The first was to Cleveland for my birthday. We went to the zoo and I got to feed a giraffe!!! Our second was to Columbus to go to the zoo and go to a fan event hosted by the Blue Jackets. Such a great time with each trip!

3. Concerts
It has been awhile since I went to a concert. This year I was lucky enough to go to three amazing concerts! The first one was a little last minute, but Bon Jovi was worth it! He played forever and was incredible! Second concert was Kesha and Pitbull. Even though there were tons of younger kids cramping out style, we rocked out, sang along and danced all night. Last concert was the "Under the sun" tour with five 90's bands. My highlight was finally getting to see the Gin Blossoms. Everyone had so much fun.

2. Races
Of course my running is included in this list. This year I checked a major goal off my bucket list, finish a marathon. I won't go in to my race again, but it was a learning experience for sure. I also finished two half marathons, including the Runners World hat trick. I also accomplished 1,000 miles for the year.

1. Becoming an aunt
From the day I found out about my little guy, I was excited. Nothing compares to actually getting to meet the newest member of your family only minutes after he arrives. Even though I'm not with him everyday, I love getting pictures of him and hearing about his new abilities. I can't wait to watch him grow and to be able to guide him through his life.

The new year isn't even here yet, but it already has so much to live up to. I'm excited for the plans we already have and for those that will surprise us along the way.
