The Smoothie Experiment

To say I am a picky eater is an understatement. My food choices are about to a seven year olds level. As an athlete, maybe not the best.

It has never really been a problem until recently. I have been cramping really bad after workouts and have been EXTREMELY tired. I decided it was time to do something.

So what does one do when looking to fix themself? Go to the internet of course! Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest? I also took the question to #runchat and got some awesome advice.

So I decided my first smoothie attempt would be a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. I LOVE peanut butter so this would be a great transition.

Here is the recipe I used:

1 scoop vanilla protein
2 tablespoons organic peanut butter
1 cup chocolate almond milk
1 tablespoon yogurt
Some ice

That's it!

I pulsed the ice for a few seconds then let the blender do all the work!

Alright, let's see how this is going to turn out...

Let me tell you, it was delicious!! Tasted just like Reese Puff cereal! I could really get used to this!!

Do you have a smoothie recipe that I need to try?

  1. I am gonna have to try the recipe... And you sound like my wife saying how did people find things before Pinterest. I guess my old ass still remembers cook books

  2. Smoothies are great, but I have a recommendation. Buy Salt Stick. You can get it at REI or online. It's amazing, and totally helps with leg cramps, sloshy stomach, fuzzy head, tired legs, etc etc. I can't recommend it enough. I won't race without it.
