Columbus Marathon Training: Week One

Here goes nothing! The first week of training for the Columbus Marathon! I have taken away so many things from my last marathon training and I was ready to put them in to action.

I had five workouts this week totaling 30 miles. I had one treadmill workout because temps were well over 90. The rest were outside.

My training is very forgiving, pace wise. All that it recommends is that my long runs are at about a 10:04 pace. I am enjoying letting my body call the shots and not worry about pace. It's a very nice change.

I placed an Oiselle order for my birthday gift to myself and it came in the mail this week!!

I have had horrible luck finding sports bras and I really love these strappy bras. The Lesko bra I like too. I already own a top with the Lesko bra built it, so I will use it more for racing.

I am very pleased with this first week of training. Next week is the exact same plan. I hope to keep a steady pace and stay healthy!

When does training for your fall races start? How was your holiday weekend?

  1. Training starts now for me too. However, I am only doing half marathons, and not fulls this year.

There is nothing wrong with that! I plan on doing that here in the near future!
