Columbus Marathon Training: Week Two

Week two is finished and in the books! I prefer to think of the calendar in training weeks, so I don't realize how many miles I'm doing in July!

Anyway. I have had a pretty huge week this week! A ton has happened, some of which I have already caught you guys up on!

So this week I had five workouts totaling 30.5 miles, giving me 60.5 miles for July.  I did some hill work, treadmill and rolling hills. I still have two weeks until my first scheduled track workout so I've been trying to keep a very light pace to stay healthy early on.

So the good news for the week! Monday I joined the Oiselle Flock Team! Friday I hit 50% of my 2014 mileage goal and we found out our Akron Relay team was now going to be Team Panera Bread! Plus on my long run, I had already surpassed my July mileage from last year. In 12 days! In non running related life, I got asked to work some sporting events this fall, doing what I went to college for!! I was so honored and excited to get back at it!

Oh!! Plus the Columbus Marathon released the finisher medals for the race! We are under 100 days away so this was some extra motivation!

This was one of the best overall weeks I have had in awhile. It's nice when things can all line up at the same time to make a HUGE impact! The weather is supposed to be cooler this week and my mileage is starting to go up. Time to kick it up a notch!

Did you have any unexpected surprises this week? What do you think about the Columbus Marathon medals?
