Columbus Marathon Training: Week Six

I have been waiting for the week that challenges me mentally. There is always at least one in every training cycle. Well, my lovely blog readers, this week was mine.


By this point, I know what I am doing. Go run and follow the training plan. It's simple! For some reason, almost every run this week was not good. Not at all. 



So, this week I had five workouts that equaled 37 miles. I did treadmill, rolling hills and trail runs. So far in August I have logged 55 miles. 



Some positives for the week, my mom came to visit Wednesday night. She participated in MINI Takes The States and started in Pittsburgh. We had a nice evening in town. 



I stopped at Panera Bread for lunch this week to try and shake off the bad training. I got the Take 2 with Mac and Cheese and a half grilled cheese sandwich. It was so good and really hit the spot! 




I am really looking forward to putting this week behind me and continuing my journey.

  5. Steff, I hate that you did not feel good about your training week. When I do not have a good training week, I usually treat myself to a nice yoga class or find something special to do to get me motivated to start again with a fresh perspective on the final result, instead of focusing my attention on what went wrong. I'm so glad your mom was able to hang out; love that picture of the two of you. Hope you have a great week this week - you are ROCKIN' it!

    And those are my favorite things, to get from Panera! Their mac n cheese is the best!

  8. We all have that one week, and it sucks. I just try to tell myself I know what I can do and what I am capable of, and I just try to brush it off and move on. If you get to focused on it, it will have a domino affect and ruin other workouts
