Columbus Marathon Training: Week 11

In my past experiences with marathon training, five weeks out from the race has been a very frantic time. Normally I am trying to get my only 20 miler in and overtraining to try to make up the miles I didn't do on my long run.

I am very pleased to say this time around is completely different. 

This week I have five workouts. They totaled 39 miles. For September, I have 70.1 miles and 876 miles for 2014. 

I've been fighting some hip pain in the early part of the week. Then a bit of the stomach bug in the second part. No excuses, I still got my workouts in! 

I have never done two 20 milers in a marathon training plan! The fact that I have one more next week is quite intimidating, but knowing my taper starts right after it will push me for sure!

Some awesome new for the week, I have been named a FitFluential ambassador! I cannot believe I have the honor to be associated with some amazing people! 

Friday I got to watch one of my best friends race her first cross country race in almost three years! She got 11th overall and did an awesome job! I was so happy I could be there to see it! 

Me and Chelsea ran together on Saturday then went to Panera after. I got my favorite Mac and Cheese. Since I wasn't feeling 100% I wanted something I knew would agree with me. 

I can't believe we are less than two weeks away from Akron!! We are all finalizing all of our travel plans and I'm getting more and more excited!

  1. You did GREAT this week, Steff! I'm so excited for you; I know you are going to have a great race. I can't believe that it's so close already - whew! I hope you are feeling better and that you have a great week and are able to go into your taper feeling confident; you definitely should be!
