2014 Review and 2015 Goals

There is less than a week left in 2014. I am still in so much shock about the year that was. I set some really big goals for 2014, I even had to adjust them along the way! It’s time to look back at the year that was!

1,111 miles in 2014: I achieved this goal on December 21. After having to take a month off due to the stress fracture, I FINALLY hit my mileage goal. My lowest mileage month was February (41.3 miles) and highest was August (162.5). I love hitting mileage goals. It is something that is on my mind all year, and I feel everyone should set one.

Achieve a 100 mile July: Not only did I hit this goal, I crushed it! I ended July with 135 miles. Yes, I jumped for joy when I hit that goal!

Two full marathons with two PRs: While I did run my two full marathons, I did not get two new PRs in the marathon. I was a little crazy to think that I could PR in Disney, but a girl can dream big, right? I believe it made the Columbus PR that much sweeter.

Run four half marathons: When I knew I wasn’t going to get to run four half marathons, I changed this goal to run 14 races in 2014. During the 14 races, I had four PRs (5k twice, 6.6k and marathon) and got to run in three states and even complete my first virtual race!

Connect with more of the running community: Of all of my 2014 goals, this is the one I am most proud of. In 2014 I made the most amazing friends, started to be an ambassador for some fantastic brands and built my blog up more than I ever thought I could. I really love connecting with all of you, and you guys inspire me more than you will ever know. I say it all the time, but I am so grateful to have you all taking this journey with me!

So no more looking back, it’s time to look to 2015! I have made a few goals for 2015 that I believe are very achievable.

1,200 miles: Yep. I am going for it! I want to average 100 miles a month. I should have hit this mileage mark in 2014 and I want redemption.

Half Marathon PR: Point blank. I am so ready to break my half marathon PR. It has stood since my first half marathon on 2012 (1:51). I have a bunch of half marathons planned for 2015. Hopefully, during one of those races I will come home with a brand new PR.

Cross train: While I was in the boot I realized that I am HORRIBLE with cross training. Let’s be real folks, to achieve the goals I have, I need to cross train more. I want to do some sort of cross training once a week, along with my training.

So that is it guys, I am going to need you all to keep me accountable!

What are your 2015 goals? How are you keeping yourself accountable?

I'm thinking about my goals for next year too! I also want to break my half marathon time of 1:50 from 2013. In 2014, I had a rough time with some injuries so I am hoping for a strong comeback this year!
