Tinkerbell Half Marathon Training: Week Two

Happy Wrestlemania Sunday everyone!! This weekend is my favorite non-running weekend of the year! One day I will go to a Wrestlemania, it is the highest thing on my bucket list!

I am not going to sugar coat this for you guys, this week was hard. The weather was so beautiful the beginning of the week, but then it started snowing again and had been below freezing. I thought we were done with this! Plus, my legs have been killing me because I needed to change my shoes.

This week I had four workouts for 17 miles, mostly on treadmill. They included speed workouts and a little incline work. For March I have 92 miles and 292 miles towards my 2015 mileage goal of 1,200 miles.

I had a really good reason for skipping a run this week! I got to watch my Cal U women's basketball team win the NCAA Division 2 National Championship!! I was the voice of this team for three years while I was in undergrad. I traveled with them to two Elite Eight tournament, but they never advanced. Hubby and I went down to Cal to watch the championship game Friday night with a bunch of my friends. So worth skipping the run!

I retired my third pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 17s this weekend. They had just about 270 miles on them, and they needed to go. I broke out one of the pairs I got for Christmas. This is my first pair of WR17 that aren't bright green. It's so weird! My legs do feel a lot better.

Today is the last day to enter my PRO Compression giveaway! Plus, you can use promo code BLG14 for 40% off any marathon socks or sleeves and free shipping!

Also, huge blog milestone this week, I hit 30,000 page views!! I never thought I could be interesting enough for anyone to read my blog! Thank you all so much for taking this ride with me!

I promise to get back on track next week. Everyone has a week like this one, glad I can get it out of the way now! Congrats to everyone who raced the JASR this weekend! You guys are all awesome for going out in the elements!

Did you go back to winter this week? How did you adjust?

  1. I went to Cal U. I haven't back there in years, good to see them win. This week the weather change killed me. I heard other runners complaining at the JASR that it was getting to them too.

  2. Same here. We had nice weather earlier in the week and I only had to wear a sweatshirt to the gym, and then literally a few days later I was wearing a scarf! I'm just so over this weather. I had a half marathon this morning and the real feel outside was under 20 degrees. Its so ridiculous!

  3. I just got back from Florida, today, and it is 33 degrees, windy, and raining. Ugh. Talk about a reality check...

My husband took my boys to Wrestlemania about 10 years ago. They had a blast!
