Tinkerbell Half Marathon Training: Week Three

Happy Easter everyone! I promised you guys that I am done with excuses and this week I really stuck to that!

This week I had five workouts for 31.5 miles. I did all sorts of workouts between track, trails, treadmill and hills. I finished March with exactly 100 miles. So far for April I have 23.5 miles. I have 324 miles towards my 2015 goal of 1,200 miles.

I am so proud of my friend Chelsea. During my 8.5 mile run I actually ran up Liberty Avenue to meet her as she was finishing her first ever 20 miler. I am so proud of her for all of her hard work and dedication to the marathon process!

During my track workout, I got poured on during my fourth rep. Unmotivated Steff would have just given up, this Steff went out on my rest day to finish the final four reps. I felt fantastic! I also learned I really need to work on consistent pacing. This will be something that I will work on more this summer.

I am very pleased with how well I bounced back after the rough week last week. I am really looking forward to how I can build on this week. The weather looks to be improving, plus I have Friday off and I want to get in a really decent long run!

What was your favorite run this week? What made it so great?

  1. You really did kick it into high gear this week, girl! Great!! My favorite run this week was today's long run. Being Easter Sunday together with beautiful sunshine and a generally positive mood I was just able to soak in everything from the beauty of the city, the trails, the friendly people around, and the sheer blessing that being able to run is. Yeah I sound silly, but I enjoy being able to reflect on the positives instead of always on what's going wrong.

  2. Great training week! I agree that consistent pacing is a work in progress...its one of the hardest things for me to do. Speed work really helps me with that. Keep up the good work!

  3. I love new courses! I cant wait to explore some more!

  4. The sun just makes everything better! It makes me smile that much more!

  5. Thanks! I am excited to build on this!
