Tinkerbell Half Marathon Training: Week Six

I love to have a theme of my training every week. This is something I learned in my Believe training journal. This weeks theme was supposed to be "Going the distance" but it ended up being "Catching my breath".

I suffer horribly from seasonal allergies. I can't take medication because everything makes me drowsy, even Claritin. On Monday night I felt like I was swallowing knives. I took NyQuil and it took me over 24 hours to get out of the fog. I didn't start feeling somewhat better until Saturday but I had no energy left. This was supposed to be my peak week and that just wasn't the case. I did what I could, and that's all I can ask.

This week I had four workouts for 25.2 miles. Most of them were on the treadmill but I made sure to do my long run outside. For April I have 99.1 miles and 399 miles towards my 2015 goal of 1,200 miles.

Breathing was incredibly hard for those outside 11 miles, but I did them and I'm super proud about that. I really don't know what to expect for next week. I'm hoping to take it really easy during the week, maybe do some work on the treadmill.

Today is also my hubby's 30th birthday!! We had a party for him last night and he had a great time.

With the rough week behind me I am super excited that it is finally Pittsburgh Marathon week!! Don't forget about the Meet Up/Tweet Up on Saturday before the 5K!

It's been a rough week, but I am looking forward to next weekend and all the fun to be had!
