Pittsburgh Running Blogger Spotlight: Sarah

This weeks Pittsburgh Running Blogger Spotlight it on Sarah from Lunges, Long Runs and Lattes!

I played sports in high school and college but didn't start running until 2008. I was encouraged by trainers at my gym to run my first race, the Rusty Rudder 5k in Dewey Beach, DE. At my first race, I won my age group and I was hooked! I ran several 5ks and 10k and eventually ran a half marathon in 2010 and a full marathon in 2013. I'm a civil engineer so I spend most of my time at a desk. Running is a great way combat sitting both mentally and physically. My husband has also ran several races with me.

What is your favorite local race and why?
S: Pittsburgh Marathon - It's the highlight of the running season in Pittsburgh. It highlights everything I love about this great city: neighborhoods, bridges and of course the people.

What is your favorite thing about running?
S: The therapeutic benefits it can provide. I can have an awful day, but a run can put everything into perspective.

What is your favorite piece of running gear? S: My Brooks Ghost!

What is your favorite running moment?
S: Anytime I break a PR!

Sarah's blog is awesome and one I read regularly! You can also catch her on twitter! I am absolutely obsessed with her blog header photo! Make sure you check her out along with the rest of the Pittsburgh Running Bloggers!
