Akron Half Marathon Training: Week Nine

Have you ever had one of those weeks that everything went really well? You know, one that actually goes so well you are waiting for something to go bad? Well that was this week for me! It wasn't as hot this week and I could really appreciate the hard work I have put in the past nine weeks.

This week I had four workouts for 32 miles. For August I have 44 miles and 754 miles towards my 2015 goal of 1,200 miles. 

So, like I was saying, I had a really great week and I knew something bad would happen. Well, I forgot about my three mile run on Saturday. Legit forgot. I was coloring my hair and waiting for it to set when the lightbulb went off that I didn't do my run. I was angry! Sure, it was only three miles, but still I forgot to do them! I still can't believe I did that. 

You may have noticed I switched watches by the end of the week. I tried to upload my Soleus the other day and noticed the USB piece was really corroded. It would not connect at all. I even tried to plug it in just to charge, and still nothing. I have been in touch with them to try to get it resolved. I have only had this watch since March and I'm super angry that this happened.

I am so excited that I will be a Sparkly Soul Ambassador for another year! You guys know my love for Sparkly Soul Headbands, and all the support from the other ambassadors. I got the sweetest gift in the mail from them the other day! I have been living in the confetti hearts headband since they arrived! 

No fear, my hair color has been fixed!

Also, the new Pro Compression sock of the month is out! They also are having a deal on low trainers, which I love! It's a nice hug for your feet when you don't feel like wearing high socks! 

My last big piece of news this week, I SIGNED UP FOR MY FIFTH MARATHON! I have been talking about it for months, but I finally did it! I'm taking the show back to Louisiana in January for the Louisiana Marathon and 5K! They call it the déjà vu challenge and I'm really excited for it! I signed up for the marathon in all hopes to finish it, but if I drop to the half I won't feel terrible about it. Winter is rough here in the north east, and I will do everything I can!

Well, that's it! It's been a busy week, and is only going to get busier. I'm six weeks away from race day and my confidence is really building. I am so excited for the next few weeks! 

Please tell me you have forgotten to do a run before. I really feel awful about it!


  1. I have to say I have never forgotten to do a run! Really, my runs are the highlight of my day...

    How fun that you are doing the Louisiana marathon!

    1. Straight up forgot! I think I was more concerned about my long run coming up and it just slipped my mind!

  2. I have never forgotten to DO a run, but I have forgotten WHAT run to do (forgot the intervals, and instead just ran some easy miles)... Granted, that's not really the same but I still felt like an idiot when I did it!

    How exciting is heading into your FIFTH marathon?!?! Woohoo!! You're doing great!

  3. I don't remember ever missing a run because I just flat out forgot; I've certainly missed them for other reasons, though - ha! Hey, your hair looks great, by the way!! :) That's messed up about your watch; I certainly hope they resolve the issue.

    1. I've never felt so attached to a piece of electronics before in my life! I panicked at the thought of not having my watch!
