Louisiana Marathon Training: Week Two

Still settling into marathon training, this
week was relatively calming. Marathon training is humbling, I think it is one of the best ways to discover your body and soul. 

This week I had five workouts that totaled 35.3 miles. For November I have 111.2 miles and 1,170 miles towards my 2015 goal of 1,200 miles. 

My first run of the week was probably the best run I have had in months. It was a six mile tempo run with miles 3-4 at 10k pace (8:14). I did them at 8:13 and 8:07. Everything felt amazing. The miles seemed to fly by and I couldn't believe it was done. It's also fun to see my 10k pace is now what I was training for a half marathon goal pace. Like I said, marathon training is humbling. 

I finished my Christmas shopping! It is always my goal to finish before Black Friday, but with Disney I lost some time. Besides one little part of a gift, I am done shopping! 

The December Run Challenge starts on Tuesday!! There is still time to join in with the over 100 people who have already signed up! All you have to do is run and you are entered for weekly prizes! All of the information can be found on the tab at the top of my blog!

  1. Oh, my gosh, Steff! I'm so impressed that your Christmas shopping is DONE!! I've done quite a bit, but I've still got a few things to get before I can say that I'm completely finished. You've done great! I'm excited about the December Run Challenge tomorrow!!

  2. I love and hate marathon training. Sounds like you are really in the thick of it now. I am in Florida this weekend but will be checking in to see if you need a running buddy soon. We run the same long distance pace (I think)
