The 2015 December Run Challenge

You asked for it, and it has returned! For the third consecutive year, Run Steff Run presents the December Run Challenge! Last year we had an incredible turnout with over 150 participants and we inspired and motivated each other through the last leg of the year.

If you are new to the December Run Challenge, let me explain how it works.

This is not a running streak, contest, or race to a specific amount of miles. The December Run Challenge is about motivating each other to continue with training through the toughest part of the year. Maybe you want a kick start to your 2016 New Years Resolution. You could be in a little bit of a running rut, or coming off of injury. Let’s work together and inspire each other to keep moving and finish the year strong!

From December 1 through December 31, the challenge will be active! Every week starts on Monday. For each week, set a mileage goal for yourself. This is your goal. Remember, it is not a contest. Every Sunday, you will be asked to report back to see if you reached your goal! 

Each week that you report mileage of any type, you are entered to win that specific weeks prize! Yes, prizes! All you have to do is run!

There will also be flash challenges throughout the week. They will be posted here and on social media. If you participate in the flash challenge, you get an extra entry to the weekly prizes! Make sure you follow my social media accounts so you don’t miss any opportunities!

The official hashtag to play along is #DecemberRunChallenge. Make sure you tag your runs on twitter or Instagram. This way we can follow along with everyone who is participating. Remember, this is about motivating each other. Any miles/activity counts!

Registration is free and will stay open all month. Jump in whenever you like. I will send out an email every Sunday to the email you provide with the link the report your mileage. I will also pin it to the top of my Facebook page and will also be added to the December Run Challenge page at the top of my blog. Winners will be picked and notified Monday mornings.

  1. YAY!!! I'm really going to try to remember to tag my posts this year; I was so horrible about it last December but, in my defense, I was training for my first marathon - ha! This year I'm all, "marathon? No sweat! I can do that!" Uh, yeah...that'll hold up until about mile 22 - ha! I'm signed up and excited to join in, Steff!
