Louisiana Marathon Training: Week Six

Oh peak week, I can't say I was looking forward to you. Peak marathon training is rough enough, add in the holidays and all that comes with it, yeah it's a lot. Luckily, I'm stronger than the crazy and got it all done!

This week I had five runs that totaled 47 miles. For December I have 160 miles and 1,330 miles for 2015.

I was so excited to have Lauren and Jeff join me for the first 12 miles of my 20 miler! It was so nice to chat, catch up and just see their happy faces. Plus, it was 64 degrees and fabulous! I got soaked at mile 18 of the 20 and a nasty blister formed, but that's the only negative from the day!

Christmas was great for us. I got a new foam roller and another pair of shoes. I also got a super fun wine glass from my hubby and one of my best friends! Joe said it's the official wine glass of Run Steff Run!

So, I am officially on my taper! It's crazy to think it's already here! I have been so lucky with this weather and for being motivated enough to get all my training in. I might be a little crazy to think I can accomplish such a big goal on a modified training plan, but I'm excited to see how it turns out! There will be sleep happening during my taper, and getting back on my "diet" (meaning no more cookies and junk). It's time to wrap up 2015 and move into 2016!

  2. Great job over the holidays! I can barely make myself get up and away from the cookies, so I'm very impressed with you. Also love that wine glass...so thoughtful!

  3. Great peak week!! awesome! Now that the holidays & traveling are over, I am SO looking forward to getting back into a running & eating well routine.

PS: Does everyone use the Nike+ app to get that writing over their pictures? Do you have to use the app to track your runs in order to get the data over the picture like that? I've always loved the look of the pictures, since it's all there at once, but I hate using my phone to track any of my runs :(

    1. I use fitsnap. I don't run with my phone at all so it's super easy for me to use!
