Louisiana Marathon Training: Week Three

This week was all about adapting. Work was a little crazy this week, and I let a lot of things dictate my training. Pretty much, I have started to embrace the treadmill but I did hit all of my workouts for the week!

This week I had five workouts that totaled  41 miles. I have 41 miles for December and 1,211 miles towards my 2015 goal of 1,200 miles.

Yes, you read that correctly! During my long run I reached my 2015 mileage goal!

This is the most miles I have ever done in a calendar year, and I'm still going! Plus, it was my first 40+ mile week of the year. It felt so good to do it again, and my body is responding very well. My faster miles feel better than my slower ones and can we talk about this unseasonably warm December!?!

If you are participating in the December Run Challenge and need the link to report back your miles, you can find it here! I'll have the winners picked by tomorrow afternoon!

My Pro Compression calf sleeve grab bag came this weekend! Two styles I don't have and one I do! Maybe they will be a nice surprise gift for someone since I love them so much! There are some still available - use promo code THBAG for 40% off and free shipping!

Can we talk about Kara crushing Rock n Roll San Antonio? Legit, home girl is on fire and Rio is calling her name! I loved following along on Twitter. It was such a fun morning!

Next week is my cut back week. I'm also working a bunch of high school football so here comes some crazy! I need to stay focused on my goals and keep my eye on the prize!!

Do you set a yearly mileage goal? How close are you to achieving the goal?

  1. Great job Steff!! Can't believe you hit your yearly goal already. Amazing!! I'm almost there...only 75 miles to go :) Crazy to think I'm almost there when I only did a total of 50 miles in January and February..I had a lot of catching up to do :)

    1. Thanks! I would have hit it a while ago but I took a few weeks off in May and October. Oh well, it's done!

  2. Great job this week! 40 miles - I can never imagine myself getting up that high haha .. my highest average was probably only 20! and that was during peak training. I never make a yearly mileage goal - Still debating whether that's something I should do - sounds daunting to me!
