Tuesday was the Mojo happy hour run at North Park. When I first started working there I told everyone my goal was to run the February happy hour run with them, since there is only one a month. Well, I was finally able to do it!
I also decided that it would be my long run. It was about 48 degrees and no snow so it seemed like the best decision to make. I ended up running three miles solo and then five miles with two other people. Tackling as many hills as I could to get ready for DC.
Thursday I ran two miles on the treadmill at a 9:41 pace. It was so uneventful that I didn't even take a picture of it. That's a good thing though, no news is good news!
Saturday we went to the Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest. We got tickets for Christmas and hubs was really excited to go. I, on the other hand, was not. I don't really drink beer and I really get uncomfortable around obnoxious drunk people. I played DD and hubs had a good time. We even ran in to a few friends!
Sunday was a super exciting day for me. Carrie, my long lost training partner, texted me earlier in the week that she had an easy 11 miler on her schedule and I knew I could run at least a part of it with her! The plan was I would run the first five miles with her.
It was rough for sure, but thankfully Carrie is a wonderful partner and helped me through it. Even though I still managed a good pace, it didn't feel good.
After the run hubs and I went to breakfast with Kelsey and then Kelsey and I watched Fuller House!! If you haven't seen it, you need too! We even had the windows opened! Sure, Kelsey is doing homework between episodes but it's still fun!
In total I had three runs this week for 15 miles. Five more than last week. Next week I have a 10 miler and I am hoping for 20 miles. I don't want to do anything crazy with DC in under two weeks, but I feel like I am on the right track!
