The Week That Was: 4.11 - 4.17

I knew this week would be difficult. Work was a little crazy and I had so much to do in such a little time. Luckily, this week turned out to be everything I needed, in multiple ways.

I'll just be honest, I worked all day Monday and Wednesday and did no workouts at all. Am I upset about it, not really. I worked 5am-8pm and well, I like to sleep. This is going to be a theme for the next few weeks, but home girl has tons of trips coming up and someone has to pay for them. 

Tuesday hubs and I went clothing shopping. I needed a dress for a wedding (epic fail) and he needed a suit (epic win). Guys if you need a new suit head to JC Penny's or Macy's. It's worth a trip for sure!

Thursday was my planned long run for the week. I was done with work early and the weather looked perfect. I wanted to run 10 miles since Flying Pig is only two weeks away! I decided the smart thing to do would be to run the half portion of the Pig with the 5:1 intervals. I would give it a full shot during this 10 miler. 

Guys, this run was everything my soul ever needed. The sun was out, not a cloud in the sky and everything was perfect. I did discover I need to work on my walk pace for the intervals (16:15 average), but I was very pleased with the run. I finished 10 miles in 1:33 and felt so good when I finished. 


Friday was a rest day from the long run. We decided to head to Kohls with some Kohls cash. I needed a necklace for one of the weddings and hubs got some great deals. I also ordered this shirt, because it's everything.



Saturday I worked in the morning then headed out after for an easy run. Again, the sun was warm and I was happy. I did the 5:1 intervals again focusing on my walk break pace. I was thrilled to see my average walk pace was about 15:45 but there is still some work to do. I was just so happy to be outside. It really was an awesome Saturday. 


Saturday also marked the date that hubs and I started dating. We have been together for 10 years and that is just crazy to me! I can't believe it's been 10 years already. It's been such a fun ride. 


Sunday I went to a Lululemon event with Carrie. It was so nice to see her since our schedules have not worked out to run together. I ended up with a pair of pants. Holy in love! 



I also had to work then picked up some miles after. It was hot and sunny but I enjoyed every single step. My running mojo must have been hiding with the sunshine!


Weekly total: 20 miles
April Miles: 50

I can't believe I have 50 miles for the month! I am slowly coming back but I hope to kee averaging about 20-25 miles a week. I also want to add a fourth day of running. Hopefully this can happen next week, but if it doesn't that will be a May goal for sure!

  1. Glad to hear you're getting back into a routine that works for you! So i you have a race in 2 weeks, does that mean you won't be here for Pgh Marathon weekend? If not, do you know if anyone else is organizing a meetup before the 5K?

    1. I will not be here for Pittsburgh! I'll be in Cincy! I haven't heard of a meet up yet, but if I do I'll let you know.
