Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon Training: Week 14

I'm not going to sugar coat anything with you guys. This week sucked. My foot was stupid sore and I didn't want to risk anything. I'm getting smarter about this and I'm learning more about what it *might* be.

The pain I have been dealing with is in the back part of my foot, but still on the side. I ended up using some KT Tape later in the week and things got a lot better. 

I did run twice this week. Saturday I wanted to test everything so I went to the track for a few miles. I figured flat and soft would be a good thing. I didn't have any pain for the two miles, so that was great. 

Sunday I decided to run again because the weather was just beautiful. My friend Ashley wanted to run 10 since it would be her first double digit run in over a year. Of course I was going to do it with her. That's a huge deal!

We took the run nice and slow and just focused on the miles. Nothing crazy at all. Man, the difference that KT Tape really makes. I got all 10 miles in and actually felt pretty good!

Weekly Total: 12 Miles. 
September Total: 30.1 Miles. 

I did a crazy scary thing this week, I BOUGHT A BIKE!! Yes friends, I'm serious! I'm so proud of myself for taking this step and just doing it. It should be here in a few weeks and I could be more excited. 

Also this week, in not fitness related news, I paid off my car!!! Let's all throw a little party for me! This is a huge deal for me. I have never owned anything big like this. This also means I can start pumping more money into my student loans and get those done with too! 

Next week is Philly. I can't believe it. It's actually here. The weather looks to be great and I'm really looking forward to seeing a bunch of people.

  1. Congrats about your car! And that you had a pain free run. What do you do for exercise when you're not running? And awesome about buying a bike - I definitely want one for next spring since Pittsburgh is such a biking community! Good luck in Philly!
