The Week That Was: 10/31 - 11/6

After a pretty sucky week, this week I knew I needed to move forward and forget about it. I also knew I needed to start doing some sort of speed workout. You know, so when I start really training in about a month it wont be a shock to my system.

Monday was a rest day. After my crazy travel weekend and getting caught back up on my regular work, I needed the rest. Kelsey did come over and help me hand out Halloween candy. We had some fun chats, enjoyed sitting outside and laughing most of the night.

Tuesday was track day! It was about 80 degrees outside and it was just meant to be. I did four miles total with 200x4 (48, 46, 47, 45) and 400x4 (1:34, 1:37, 1:34, 1:33). My only goal for this workout was to run the last ones fastest, and I did! It felt so good to be back on track. My legs were very happy.

Wednesday I ran three miles with the couch to 5k group. It was a five minute brisk walk and then 25 minute run. Well, what it turned it to was me running a mile and a half, turning around and then the ladies turning around when I caught back up to them. It was super dark when I finished and it made me really sad. Summer is really over.

Thursday I did some strength training. Hubs had the day off so we spent the evening together. I love when I can squeeze a quick workout in and it not take my whole day.

I worked on Friday night and when I got home I didn't realize I fell asleep on the couch! My bad. Before that I did do my other strength training workout for the week. All was not lost!

Saturday morning was a three mile run with the couch to 5k group. I started behind them (about five minutes) and still caught up. Didn't look at my watch and ran a comfortable 27 minutes. It was 34 degrees and I was frozen! I couldn't process that it was 80 earlier in the week!

Sunday hubs and I took our bikes out so we could cheer on the EQT 10 Miler with the Oiselle girls. Even though I am no longer on the team, I am friends with the girls so I end up at a lot of the stuff. Anyway, we rode our bikes three miles down, cheered and then three miles back. I'm still not super comfortable on downhills, but I haven't fallen yet!

Weekly Total: 10 Miles
November Total: 10 Miles

Nice and easy week with Las Vegas coming up! I'll run once before we leave, once to get a feel for Vegas, the 5k and then the half marathon! My 20th half marathon! It's still so crazy to me! It sounds like it will be an awesome weekend and I hope to see you all there!!

Did you race this weekend? How did it go!
