Princess Half Marathon Training: Week Four

Coming off of the sick I wanted to have a really good training week. I also gifted myself a few days off to get stuff done and run.

Monday was a really nice day but I still didn't feel 100%. I did an easy strength training just so I could move around.

Tuesday was my interesting workout of the week.
2 mile warm up
14x400m (1:42 goal)
(1:39, 1:41, 1:39, 1:39, 1:37, 1:40, 1:38, 1:36, 1:44, 1:38, 1:36, 1:41, 1:38, 1:36)
2:00 recovery between each rep
1 mile cool down
8 miles total.

That workout was legit! There was a head wind for a good chunk of the reps. I was thrilled that only one rep was above goal pace!

Wednesday was rest day. It was my last day of work for the week so I really just focused on rest.

Thursday I had some dental work done and a ton of things I needed to accomplish. No running. I did find out on Thursday that I will be representing PROCompression again in 2017! I am thrilled for this opportunity and excited to connect with my new team!

Friday I decided to do my long run. It was the only day I had enough time. I had a ten mile progression run on the treadmill. The final four miles were at least half marathon pace. It was intense but done!

Saturday I had a five mile recovery run before a shift at the running store. It was a little chilly and I was really happy that my easy miles are now around a 9:00/pace! I also used those miles towards my final Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Virtual Run.

Sunday Mojo hosted a group run called Hair Of The Dog. I ran six miles and I swear they were all hills. I went a little faster than I wanted to, but I was really excited to be out in the sun.

Weekly Total: 29 Miles
December Total: 90 Miles
2016 Total: 813 Miles

I was thrilled to see I ran over 800 miles in 2016. After not being able to run for six weeks and then a scare later in the year, it was great to see. I also hit my mileage goal for December. That was awesome as well!

I'm so happy 2016 ended on a great note. I'm ready to get at 2017 for sure!
