You Make Me Smile

The world has been such a strange place lately. It doesn't matter your views on certain topics, it just doesn't seem like anyone is happy. You know what, I have a problem with that. I have made it my personal mission for 2017 to do something about it. I have decided that in 2017, I will make at least one person smile a day. It's free and simple, just be a nice person everyday.

Sure, it's might seem hard sometimes, but it really isn't. For example, a friend of mine posted on social media about being upset that he had to block his good friends because of some posts. I told him I was proud of him for doing something to better himself. He was so appreciative and said I made his day. DONE! It's that simple!

My best friend is getting married in August and I know she is super stressed. She also just bought a house. Talk about piling it on! She was having such a hard time deciding on paint colors (fun fact, I was a bathroom designer for two years and I'm still really good at it). So, I sent her a packet of paint samples that I thought would look good. Help take away some of the stress! Another smile applied!

Can we talk about the Lululemon Strava 40k/80k challenge? Boy, that made a ton of people smile! Who would have thought by running 80k outside I would be able to get a top and pair of shorts FOR FREE! Seriously, that was so awesome and really made me respect Lulu that much more.

You know what the strange thing is? I think it has helped my training. My own stress level has been pretty low recently, and that has clearly shown in my training. I have been doing a good job of eliminating negativity from my personal life, and I think I am in a really great place right now.

I have been so lucky in the past few years to have received so many amazing opportunities that this is one of the ways I could pay it forward. Whether it be a text to my running twin with our Disney countdown, or getting my husband a cupcake after a stressful week of work - I want to be the reason why someone smiles!

This blog was created as a way to keep me accountable. If I put it on the internet, I had to stick to it. I have gotten so much more out of it from all of you. So, if entering a contest you are hosting or following you on Instagram will make you smile today, LET ME KNOW! I want to do whatever I can to make it happen!

I'm linking up with Annmarie, Nicole, Michelle and Jen for Wild Workout Wednesday

Tell me, how can I make you smile today?

  1. I'm so mad at myself for using Daily mile and not Strava so I couldn't take advantage of the free shorts. Oh well! We're going to be redoing our bathroom (and adding a second one in the basement) so you know I'll be calling you up for help!

    1. Ooooo garages are tough. Ours is a middle grade tan, but try just getting a tinted primer. It makes a huge difference!

  4. It definitely hasn't been easy to stay positive but being friendly with strangers always brings a smile to my face. It also helps my stress level too when I see that there are still nice people in this world :)
