Five Things Friday - 3.3

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I am back from vacation and trying to get back in the groove. I'll have my Princess race recaps up next week for you all. Don't forget, I still have a giveaway for entry into the Utah Valley Marathon going on until Sunday. You can enter here!

I am linking up this week with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for this weeks Five Things Friday. I really like the topic this week, running hacks. While there is no right or wrong ways to do things, here are a few things that have helped me with my running.

1. My water bottle is my best friend. This is the honest truth. I never run without it. Do I always drink all the water? Nope. I love my water bottle because it has a pouch and I don't feel my key bouncing around. I also keep emergency Honey Stinger chews in the pouch, just in case!

2. Love the runners knot. Do you know how many times at the running store people tell me their shoes are slipping? The runners knot is the easiest thing to do and can make a huge difference. Here is a quick video of how to do it!

3. Find your community and let them inspire you. Everyone is different. No two runners are the same. When you are part of a community and can celebrate each other, you will always have a love for the run. It is an amazing experience.

4. Always give yourself something to look forward to. Have something you are working towards. Maybe you treat yourself to some new gear for reaching a certain mileage. Or you finally sign up for that bucket list race. If you have something to work towards, you will usually make more of an effort.

5. A;ways respect the distance. No matter what it is. You could have done the distance 100 times over, but each run is different. You will have great runs and you will have bad runs, but respect what you have done and where you are going. Running can both fill and break your heart, just remember that.

I'm excited to share my race recaps with you all next week. I also have Rock 'n' Roll DC next week and the official start of Pittsburgh Marathon training!!!
