Five Things Friday - 4.28

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I am traveling this weekend for my best friends bridal shower and I'm really excited! We have been planning this for months and I'm ready to see it happen! Plus, I get to run on my favorite rail trail for my last long run of this marathon training cycle. It should be a fun weekend.

I am linking up with Running On Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for this weeks Five Things Friday. It is a free week this week so why not a crazy random five things that are just on my mind. I think that sounds fun!

1. I know this happened over a week ago, but I am still really mad about the Boston Marathon finisher who took an extra medal for his wife because "She deserved her own medal". Give her your medal. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I guess he apologized but still, not cool.

2. I have been stuck on the Food Network all week. Beat Bobby Flay is my current favorite but I will ALWAYS get suckered in to Diners Drive Ins and Dives. I know I am not alone.

3. We booked our Fast Passes for our Disney trip in June for my 30th birthday!!! I need this trip so bad and cannot wait until we get there. It's just the two of us going and I am really looking forward to it!

4. I found my first drivers license yesterday. From 2004. Omg guys, 2004 was so long ago! It was fun to see and I'm glad I stumbled across it.

5. I just want to put this out there, I don't care if you want a fancy unicorn drink. You do you. I really don't understand why we as a culture must judge people for these time of petty things. I don't care if you don't drink or eat something. You will find me with a Mountain Dew and a donut more often than not. Do I care? Not one bit.

Since next week is race week, be ready for a week of Pittsburgh Marathon themed posts. A week out the weather looks amazing and I can't wait to take to the streets of my city!

What's on your mind this week?

  1. The unicorn drink shaming last week drove me crazy. People act like there is nothing else in the world that contained a lot of sugar, lol

The Boston Marathon story drove me crazy last week. I agree, he apologized, but I'm still not buying it.

  2. What???? I did not hear about this Boston Marathon medal news. Did the wife even run? Did she drop out? What's the story???? Also, I wanted to get he unicorn drink but could not bring myself to spend the calories on it. I have no clue about the drink shaming. What is that about? Clearly I am not "in the know" on most things...lol

    1. Nope. Didn't run. Watched the kids while he did. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

  3. I did not hear about that issue with the medal-interesting! I don't really care if people drink the Unicorn frap or not either their choice. The whole thing was a brilliant marketing strategy though!

  4. I hate shaming about anything...it's crazy how much people care about what other people are doing. Live your own life people!

  5. That guy with the medal -- I just don't get it. I don't get the unicorn drinks either, but that's because I don't like my drinks sweet. Once someone pointed out a Coke has the same amount of sugar, I realized how sensationalized everything can get.

  6. I feel like I am so behind- I don't know about the Boston medal or the unicorn drink! I think I need to do some googling. Have a great time at the bridal shower!
