Gone For A Run - Run With Me Virtual 5k Recap

It was time for me to do my Gone For A Run - Run With Me Virtual 5k  Since I don't have a pup of my own, I made sure to enjoy all of the pups along the way!

This was my first run back in a week. I knew I wanted to take it slow and really just enjoy being outside. Within the first quarter mile I saw two pups and had to say hello to them. They were so happy to have the attention from a stranger! As I got closer to the one mile mark, I saw my third dog and knew this was the perfect time to do this virtual run.

Mile One: 9:15

Mile two brought a bunch of people to my route. I can't even be mad about it since it was a little after 8am on a Thursday and all of these people were outside being active enjoying a beautiful morning. In mile two I saw four more dogs. I said good morning to each one of them. The weather was just amazing. The sun was out, but not hot and there was a nice breeze.

Mile Two: 9:51

During my last mile I realized that I forgot my medal at home! I couldn't believe it. Plus, I only saw one dog in the final mile. Maybe that's why I realized I forgot my medal. Anyway, I kept a nice steady pace and everything felt really good. This was a good choice for my first run back after vacation.

Mile Three: 9:58

I finished my 5k in exactly 30 minutes. I was really proud of that. It is a good starting point for where I should be during training paced runs in the summer. Plus I got to see so many adorable dogs!

Here is the course I took for my 5k out at North Park and the elevation.

You have until July 31st to run the Gone For A Run - Run With Me Virtual 5k. If you want to run a fun 5k with your favorite four legged friend, you can sign up here!
