Playing a Little Catch Up!

First off, I need to thank you all for understanding my blogging break! I was having some mental blocks with writing and wanted to be able to give you all some fresh content. Sometimes it's easier to just take a break than fake it through a few posts!

So over the past few weeks here is what happened!

I ran a "5k" (it was 3.4 miles) and placed 17th overall and third in my age group! This is my first age group award in my new age group! From my 5k on the Fourth of July to here, I dropped a minute and a half off of my time! I am so thrilled that all the hard work I put in during the Elite Running Academy has paid off!

Hubs has been moving along in his marathon training. We have been trying to do some runs together, and we even biked after work one night! It has been a fun thing to see him get back in to a training plan, and do very well!

I finished August with 70 miles, which I am very proud about. I feel super strong heading in to marathon training. My body feels great. I'm getting a lot better at making my easy days easy and pushing it on my harder days.

Today is officially my first day of marathon training for the Disney Marathon!! Kristen and I decided on an 18-week training plan and I am really looking forward to it. It's different from what I have done before that it's exciting.

  1. I take breaks from time to time. Even I get bored with the same old same old of my life at times!

    Congrats on your 5K! And what sort of plan are you using? Hopefully I can do another marathon next year and am looking into shaking things up a bit!

    1. I had a custom plan made for me. It's completely different from what I have done before. I'm really looking forward to it.
