No Spend February - Week Three

Week three! February is almost over! This no spend month has been really fun. I have really enjoyed doing some little things to keep myself from taking advantage of all the sales. Even with some awesome Presidents Day sales! Here is how some of my goals have been going.

1. No going out for lunch or dinner - Check! So I messed up last week and the dinner I thought I was going to is actually this week. I did go out to lunch yesterday because I had to go to the post office on my lunch and it took WAY TOO LONG!

2. No online shopping - I bought a new running coat last week. I could not find my running coat for almost a month. I was convinced it was gone. I ordered a new coat from Athleta well over 50% off. Guess what, the next day I found my coat. Face Palm. The new coat should be here by the end of the week. If I don't like it, I'll send it back.

3. No unnecessary spending - Check! Besides the coat and lunch, that is all I've spent money on!

I also cleaned out some of my running clothes I don't wear anymore and sold them. I made over $200! Hubs and I are going to get a puppy sometime this year and all of that is going towards the puppy fund!

I do have a birthday celebration this weekend so I know I will be spending a little bit. I won't go crazy. This no spend month has really helped me focus on what an acceptable amount is to spend on an occasion.

So far this month I have been able to save over $400! It's so crazy how quick all of those little spends can add up! I also moved the amount of my first car payment to my savings so I could notice how the account would reflect with it gone. My first car payment is March 1st and this is my first car payment in over two years. It's going to be a huge adjustment, but it is starting to feel not as scary!

For the last week of this no spend month I am finalizing a budget for the next few months. I think having a budget will keep me on track. I have a race I need to register for, a hair cut that needs scheduled and some other little things.

What is the status of your no spend month? How much savings have you made?
